Here's an opportunity for you to share your own reflection upon childhood, in whatever medium you desire! Contributions will be collected through the Google Form and shared on this website.
Both adults and youth may contribute; underlined below are prompts that may be more suitable for children and youth. You may also use your own prompt! No particular artistic skill is required; just be yourself.
What is your inner child saying to you today? Are they speaking to you in words, sounds, sensations? Do they feel close by you, or quite distant from you?
What helps you to lean into vulnerability and imaginative play?
What are some ways in which as a child/youth you felt restricted, silenced, or prevented from expressing, being, or exploring your full self?
For young people: What are some ways that you honor who you are despite these restrictions?
How do your childhood experiences impact you today? Do you limit or restrict yourself because of how people treated you in the past?
If your child-self met your adult-self today, what would they say? Would they feel respected and listened-to by your actions?
How do you honor the personhood of children and youth that you interact with today? Even if you do not interact with young people regularly, how might your actions be indirectly impacting young people? (For example, the ways that you treat adults with social differences influence how others treat children with similar experiences.)
What generational cycles of harm, oppression, and/or uncaring do you wish to break in your lifetime?
